This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop comprehensive and precise cost estimates for mechanical systems involved in construction projects.
• Examine project plans and specifications to ascertain the scope of work and necessary materials.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to create thorough cost management strategies.
• Evaluate project demands and suggest value engineering alternatives.
• Conduct cost risk assessments and contribute to value engineering discussions.
• Engage and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
• Employ industry-specific estimating software and tools to generate estimates.
• Offer estimating advice, support, and analysis to project stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
• Generate formal estimating reports that include quantities, costs, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
• Aid in the formulation of estimating standards and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, or a related field within construction.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of pertinent experience.
• Excels in a client-facing position.
• Experience in supporting program-level cost management for medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of technical aspects within the construction industry, including value management and value engineering.
