Senior Mechanical Analyst – Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Develops, designs, and validates structural as well as fluid dynamics models for projects involving small modular reactors and nuclear fuel cycle facilities.

• Conducts structural analysis alongside steady-state and transient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of single and multiphase flows to ensure safety and performance criteria for small modular reactors are met.

• Assesses CFD simulations and coupled fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analyses to evaluate the structural integrity of essential reactor systems.

• Enhances the skills of early-career engineers and provides mentorship to engineers across various experience levels in CFD modeling and troubleshooting.

• Generates documentation that is technically precise, grammatically sound, properly formatted, and presented in a professional manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• At least ten years of experience following the completion of a degree.

• Engineering support experience in the design, construction, or operations of nuclear facilities.

• Comprehensive knowledge of essential NRC regulations, design codes, and standards pertinent to commercial nuclear facilities is required.

• Proficient user of related design software codes, such as ANSYS FLUENT/CFX and GOTHIC.

• Experience in design for Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects is preferred.

• Must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for consideration.
