This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take charge of all clinician capacity planning and staffing strategies across various client programs, modalities, and clinician categories.
• Develop staffing strategies, recruitment plans, and financial budgets for all client initiatives.
• Create models for multi-skill workforce needs across different queues, states, and specialties, considering SLA targets, shrinkage, attrition, and scheduling limitations.
• Identify gaps in supply and demand, transforming them into actionable recruitment targets in collaboration with Clinical Recruiting and Provider Operations.
• Assist in enhancing Wheel's demand forecasting function by providing real-time operational insights on actual performance versus forecasts to improve model precision and achieve better planning results.
• Construct scenario and sensitivity models to facilitate growth planning, new launches, and rapid changes.
• Regularly reforecast and proactively communicate risks and discrepancies to leadership.
• Collaborate directly with Marketplace leadership and the commercial team to evaluate staffing and supply for new deals, modeling staffing implications, P&L impacts, and operational feasibility prior to contract finalization.
• Create and manage ROI and workforce composition analyses (W-2 vs. 1099 trade-offs, blended models, and incentive structure impacts) to guide strategic workforce choices.
• Simplify complex modeling results into clear, executive-ready recommendations for the VP of NetOps, CFO, and CEO.
• Extract, transform, and analyze extensive datasets from Workforce Management tools, operational systems, and product data using SQL, Python, or R—working independently without data team assistance.
• Develop reusable, scalable modeling frameworks that allow for program-level customization.
• Manage monthly business review materials—data, narratives, and presentations—for senior leadership audiences.
• Formulate licensing and collaborative agreement strategies as part of the comprehensive staffing plan—translating capacity model outputs into state-level licensure requirements and collaboration goals by clinician type.
• Assist in scheduling, real-time monitoring, and daily operational oversight.
• Oversee Workforce Management software configurations and forecasting tools; understand their limitations and build around them.
• Collaborate with Finance on COGS budgeting and clinician compensation activities.
• Over 7 years of experience in capacity planning, workforce management, or operational analytics.
• Demonstrated capability to create custom forecasting and capacity models from the ground up using statistical or machine learning techniques (time-series, regression, simulation).
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and at least one statistical programming language (Python or R); familiarity with visualization tools (Looker, Tableau).
• Experience in modeling workforce economics—W-2 vs. 1099 cost structures, ROI analysis, and staffing P&L consequences.
• Ability to work directly with cross-functional teams (e.g., Commercial or Finance), translating deal parameters into staffing models and trade-offs.
• Strong executive presence—capable of presenting complex analyses to executive and senior leadership and facilitating decisions, rather than just sharing slides.
• Comfort with ambiguity, imperfect data, and changing requirements; you define the specifications rather than waiting for them.
• Experience collaborating with Operations teams in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with Workforce Management platforms (e.g., Calabrio, NICE, Alvaria, Planbase, Arya), with the ability to exceed their limitations.
• Genuine interest in and experience using AI tools to enhance and automate analytical workflows—from expediting repeatable modeling tasks to exploring innovative approaches that improve forecast quality and planning efficiency.
• Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.
• Ancillary benefits: Life insurance, Short and Long Term Disability.
• 401K matching.
• Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO).
• Parental Leave.
• Stock options.
• Additional programs and perks.
