This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Lead the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision, which includes effective tax rate analysis, FIN 48 review, and financial statement disclosures.
• Supervise the preparation, review, and timely submission of federal and state income and franchise tax returns in collaboration with external advisors.
• Oversee multistate indirect tax compliance encompassing sales & use, gross receipts, and other emerging digital services taxes, including nexus studies, registrations, return filings, and audit defense.
• Serve as Omada’s main point of contact for tax authorities and external auditors; prepare responses to information requests and negotiate favorable results.
• Provide guidance to Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Product, and People teams regarding the tax implications of new products, entity structures, and workforce expansion.
• Identify and implement opportunities for cash savings (credits, incentives, elections) and process enhancements that boost accuracy and efficiency.
• Design and document SOX-compliant tax controls.
• Manage and ensure accountability of external firms regarding quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and execute a three-year tax roadmap that addresses technology, policy, and staffing.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience, including at least 2 years in-house at a high-growth company.
• Extensive knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. federal and multistate income tax regulations.
• Proven experience in multistate indirect tax compliance and nexus analysis.
• Demonstrated capability to manage external advisors and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• CPA or JD/LL.M. in Tax is required.
