This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Lead the Strategy & Execution efforts
• Develop and implement the long-term engineering strategy for PatternBuilder Document Automation projects, ensuring alignment between technology direction and business goals
• Collaborate with Product and Architecture leaders to convert customer requirements and emerging technologies into scalable solutions
• Create and manage a comprehensive roadmap for the PatternBuilder engineering team, balancing innovation with operational excellence
• Supervise delivery execution across various teams to guarantee high-quality and timely releases
• Lead & Nurture High-Performing Teams
• Oversee and mentor Engineers and Technical personnel, promoting a culture of trust, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Guide recruitment, performance evaluation, and career growth to assemble diverse, impactful teams
• Foster an environment that attracts top engineering talent and enables them to perform at their best
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with Product Management and Design to establish priorities and ensure strategic cohesion across departments
• Communicate technical strategies, roadmaps, and progress to senior leadership in clear, business-oriented language
• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders—translating intricate technical concepts into actionable business insights
• Facilitate engagement and communication among distributed teams and business units
• Technical Leadership & Oversight
• Maintain a strong understanding of technologies such as Ruby on Rails, C#, React, microservices, Azure, AWS, and containerized deployments—focusing on guiding teams rather than coding daily
• Advocate for best practices in architecture, reliability, and scalability across engineering and platform systems
• Ensure that Automation solutions are securely designed and meet compliance, performance, and privacy standards
• Encourage experimentation and responsible integration of emerging AI technologies

• Promote a growth mindset, continuous learning, and experimentation within the engineering team
• Develop a collaborative engineering culture that prioritizes quality, innovation, and transparency
• Support contributions to open-source projects and knowledge sharing across the organization
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in engineering management roles
• Proven success in managing multiple teams or a group of 7 or more engineers and leaders
• Demonstrated ability to define and implement a technical vision that aligns with business strategy
• Strong experience in leading distributed, cloud-based product development (Azure or AWS)
• In-depth knowledge of modern engineering practices—CI/CD, microservices, and scalable architectures
• Excellent skills in stakeholder management and executive-level communication
• Capability to synthesize complex technical information and effectively present it to leadership and cross-functional teams
