This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the team dedicated to safeguarding Shakepay’s platform and customers from fraud, abuse, and financial risks while supporting scalable growth and delivering a premier customer experience.
• Manage workload within fraud operations, oversee team capacity, and plan the roadmap effectively.
• Collaborate closely with data science to create scalable detection systems, experimentation frameworks, and strategies for risk decision-making.
• Facilitate growth by executing a robust risk management strategy that balances customer friction with fraud detection and operational complexity.
• Work in partnership with our product teams to ensure that fraud and risk controls are integral to all product launches.
• Drive the technology strategy for risk management by collaborating with engineering and design to establish a detection framework that minimizes losses and safeguards our user base.
• Develop comprehensive fraud insight reporting to enhance operational efficiencies, optimize rules, and improve business communications.
• Create and implement risk management policies and procedures that streamline cross-functional operations.
• Expand fraud operations by dismantling silos across all current and future financial services products while ensuring close collaboration with our operations, customer support, and compliance teams.
• Advocate for enhancements to the user experience regarding fraud and security controls throughout the customer journey.
• Manage vendor relationships effectively, ensuring cost-efficient sourcing and high-quality service.
• Foster accountability within your team, set a strong example, and cultivate a performance-driven culture.
• Over 5 years of full-time experience in risk management within a fintech environment.
• Proficient in industry fraud prevention tools and technologies.
• Proven experience in building scalable, technology-driven risk operations in a rapidly growing setting.
• Strong intuition for balancing automation, controls, and customer experience.
• Exceptional ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors and key stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Capable leader passionate about nurturing high-performance teams.
• Strong collaborative skills with technical teams (engineering, data, and product).
