Senior Manager, Legal Technology, Operations – AI Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and guide a high-achieving legal operations team with a defined direction, performance management, and organizational capability.

• Initiate and promote the adoption of an AI enablement program, which involves assessing and implementing AI-driven tools, integrating them into attorney workflows, and creating agentic automations.

• Implement and expand legal and business operations initiatives, such as Go-To-Market strategies, CPQ implementations and improvements, and Ironclad workflows.

• Enhance contract lifecycle management systems and inter-system integrations in partnership with procurement, accounting, HR, sales, deal desk, IT, and engineering teams.

• Achieve operational savings through integrations with Oracle, Zip, Salesforce, and Workday in conjunction with CLM and P2P workflows.

• Oversee outside counsel operations, which includes enforcing billing guidelines, managing e-billing systems, assessing law firms, and creating spend reports.

• Develop and sustain a knowledge management framework and KPI dashboards to provide leadership with insights into operational health.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in legal operations, strategy and operations, or a related discipline.

• Proven ownership of a legal operations program.

• At least 3 years of direct experience in managing people.

• Experience in leading at least two comprehensive technology implementations with extensive systems integrations.

• Practical experience in managing AI tools, assessing vendors, deploying tools, and creating or overseeing AI-assisted or agentic workflows.

• Strong analytical and project management capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Direct experience collaborating with legal, policy, finance, IT, and business teams.

• Preferred: experience in a rapidly growing or recently public technology company with a complex, multi-jurisdictional operational presence, including marketplace or platform businesses.

• Preferred: expertise in designing agentic or automated legal workflows.

• Preferred: familiarity with legal operations communities such as CLOC or similar professional development groups.

• Preferred: experience conducting vendor RFPs or evaluations of law firms with a focus on controlling outside counsel costs.

• Preferred: demonstrated success in leading change management initiatives to promote the adoption of new technologies and processes across a distributed legal function.
