This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Leads, develops, and manages a diverse team of specialists and Risk professionals.
• Provides oversight and advisory support/services, acting as an oversight function for TD's enterprise/operational Risk programs.
• Serves as a thought leader for all risk-related initiatives.
• Offers effective challenges, oversight, and risk intelligence behaviors and outcomes while adhering to the Bank's risk appetite.
• Demonstrates people management leadership by attracting top talent, establishing goals, fostering staff development, managing performance and compensation decisions, encouraging teamwork, and addressing disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Oversees and directs a large and/or complex reporting function for areas with significant risk, complexity, or scope while nurturing talent and developing skills and capabilities to meet career aspirations, support project/initiative success, and achieve business objectives.
• Provides coaching, mentorship, and guidance to practitioners and executives within the area of expertise.
• Manages and directs the overall discipline and strategy for respective areas while aligning with enterprise best practices.
• Facilitates strategic discussions and offers thought leadership to executive audiences.
• Sets the operational team direction and collaborates with others to achieve shared goals.
• Focuses on long-term planning for the functional area.
• Bachelor's degree or technical certification and/or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of various risk management disciplines, strategies, governance, regulations, controls, operating environments, consulting principles, procedures, and processes.
• Familiarity with the risk management landscape, standards, regulations, and mitigation strategies.
• Understanding of current and emerging competitor and market trends.
• Capability to contribute to the strategic direction of the function and deliver trusted and reliable reporting, advice, and insights to senior leadership.
• Proficient in forecasting initiatives and demand to develop the annual strategic plan.
• Skilled in budget management, P&L oversight, and resource allocation.
• Expertise in talent development and performance management.
• Ability to set goals and objectives that align with the strategic plan.
• Advanced capability to lead, plan, implement, and assess program/project activities to ensure the successful completion of initiatives.
• Ability to make a significant impact, influence outcomes, and achieve results through effective negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in using computer applications, including MS Office.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships across teams and functions.
• Capacity to work successfully both as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
• Proficiency in analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing work while meeting multiple deadlines.
