
Senior Manager, Enterprise Payment Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Build, lead, and cultivate a high-performing, cross-functional team that includes business analysis, product ownership, engineering, and project management.
• Take ownership of the long-term technology roadmap and architecture for enterprise payment processing across in-store, digital, and contact center channels.
• Supervise integrations with payment processors, acquiring banks, gateway providers, terminal manufacturers, and alternative payment methods.
• Direct the selection, onboarding, migration, certification, vendor governance, and commercial negotiations of payment processors.
• Oversee interchange optimization, settlement reconciliation, and dispute/chargeback management in collaboration with Treasury and Finance.
• Establish and implement the infrastructure for in-store payment terminals, including hardware refresh, certification, and large-scale deployment initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and promote tokenization, point-to-point encryption, and network segmentation.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, audit, legal, procurement, finance, operations, and implementation teams.
• Sponsor and govern significant payment programs, manage dependencies and risks, and provide status updates to leadership.
• Develop and oversee operating and capital budgets, business cases, ROI, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Define SLAs, uptime targets, operational KPIs, incident management protocols, business continuity plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Champion automation and process enhancements across payment operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise payment systems, financial services technology, or fintech.
• More than 5 years of experience managing people and leading cross-functional technical or operational teams.
• Extensive knowledge of acquiring banks, payment networks, gateways, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction lifecycle management.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale payment processor integrations, migrations, and certification programs.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, payment security controls, tokenization, and encryption standards.
• Capability to manage enterprise technology programs from initial conception through to production operations.
• Strong vendor management abilities, including contract negotiation, SLA governance, and performance oversight.
• Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and stakeholder management across both technical and business audiences.
