This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and develop high-performing platform engineering teams that provide reliable, scalable infrastructure and operational excellence for Vanta’s products and clients.
• Establish technical direction and spearhead multi-quarter platform initiatives focused on infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and developer experience across shared systems and services.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering, security, and engineering leadership to pinpoint organizational needs. Convert ambiguous infrastructure challenges into clear roadmap priorities and deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Design and enhance internal platforms, paved roads, and abstractions that enable product teams to deploy independently, securely, and efficiently without in-depth infrastructure expertise.
• Steer the advancement of Vanta’s cloud and data infrastructure, encompassing AWS services (ECS, Fargate), MongoDB performance and optimization, and event-driven architecture.
• Foster a robust engineering culture, operational standards, and ownership practices that empower teams across Vanta to develop and manage healthy systems responsibly.
• Over 5 years of experience managing platform or infrastructure teams in high-growth tech companies.
• Previous experience overseeing multiple teams or various charters.
• Strong decision-maker capable of effectively balancing ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
• Proven track record of maintaining and scaling shared infrastructure in measurable and concrete ways.
• Experience in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (such as recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc.) in a previous role.
• Prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that involve multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Effective communicator and storyteller, able to influence cross-functional stakeholders and neighboring teams, and comfortable driving technical direction across teams without relying on direct authority.
• Willingness to utilize AI to enhance their skills and improve their work—showing curiosity, a readiness to learn, and sound judgment in responsibly applying AI to boost efficiency and impact.
