Senior Manager, Defense Public Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Accountable for facilitating public relations initiatives within the Defense sector

• Design and implement strategic public relations and media strategies

• Interact with and pitch to key media personnel

• Foster new connections with journalists

• Recognize fresh story concepts and prepare briefing documents and press releases

• Oversee crisis communication efforts

• Guarantee that essential business and campaign messages are accurately conveyed

• Provide media training for leaders and spokespersons in anticipation of media interactions

⛳️ Requirements

• A University Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 7 years of experience

• Familiarity with the aerospace and defense sector

• Outstanding written, verbal, and social communication abilities

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities

• Keen attention to detail and thorough staff work

• Strong executive presence with experience in executive coaching and counseling

• Proven ability to effectively engage with all levels of personnel, management, and external entities

• Track record of successfully working within cross-functional teams

• Ability to work autonomously, manage time and resources efficiently, organize, and prioritize tasks across multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines

• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing directions

• Proven capacity to balance and deliver on various projects simultaneously

• Solid understanding of Associated Press writing style
