This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Lead, guide, and nurture a team of data engineers.
• Implement the data engineering strategy in alignment with manufacturing and supply chain goals.
• Architect and deploy scalable, secure, and robust data frameworks across Azure, AWS, and hybrid setups.
• Oversee data acquisition and ingestion, integrating PLCs, historians, SCADA, IoT, and manufacturing systems.
• Promote and enforce data governance, standards, data quality, lifecycle management, and compliance.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to convert business requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Design and maintain both real-time and batch data pipelines utilizing Snowflake, PowerBI, Power Automate, MQTT, Inductive Automation, Tulip, and SAP.
• Provide insights into manufacturing KPIs and essential metrics.
• Foster continuous improvement in data engineering practices, tools, and team competencies.
• Cultivate an action-oriented, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
• Ensure that all solutions adhere to organizational standards and strategic objectives.
• Encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices through existing and emerging technologies.
• Deliver regular updates and ongoing support to management and key stakeholders.
• Maintain high standards of work quality and contribute to the overall success of the team.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years in a leadership position managing data engineering teams.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
• Familiarity with shop floor data sources, including PLCs, historians, SCADA, and IoT.
• Proficiency with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, and AWS.
• Experience with data integration and visualization tools, including PowerBI.
• Understanding of data governance, data architecture, data quality, and data security best practices.
