Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement star schema dimensional models in SQL Server for business intelligence and analytics purposes.

• Write and optimize data-operation scripts, which include table creation, indexing, keys, and handling slowly changing dimensions.

• Conduct business analysis and develop ETL code and scripts in accordance with technical specifications and business needs.

• Build application systems adhering to standard system development methodologies for design, programming, backup, and recovery.

• Identify programming approaches, tools, and techniques that align with business requirements.

• Offer subject matter expertise in the development of specifications and plans for data-process development.

• Deploy application code and analytical models using CI/CD tools, while providing support for deployed data applications and models.

• Work directly with clients as part of an agile, multifaceted team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or another scientific or quantitative discipline.

• 5 years of experience in designing conceptual, physical, and logical data models utilizing enterprise data modeling tools.

• 5 years of experience in strategic data planning, governance, and adherence to standards.

• 5 years of experience applying enterprise data warehouse modeling constructs and best practices for star schema.

• Practical experience integrating systems with big data/data lake repositories using ETL tools.

• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, DBeaver, and Visual Studio.

• Experience in data mining and data warehousing practices.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to articulate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Capability to obtain Secret Clearance; active Secret Clearance is highly preferred.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Git, and GitHub.

• Preferred: SQL Server or data management certification such as CDMP or MCSA.

• Preferred: Background in the defense healthcare domain.
