Senior Manager, Data & AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee and guide a team of data engineers, ML engineers, and knowledge engineers based in India.

• Facilitate coordination of delivery with technical leadership in the US across different time zones.

• Spearhead hiring and onboarding processes as the India team expands.

• Take ownership of sprint planning, delivery schedules, and progress tracking.

• Ensure high technical standards through code reviews, architecture discussions, and adherence to engineering protocols.

• Collaborate with the Principal Architect and ML Engineering Lead to establish technical direction.

• Identify and eliminate obstacles, manage dependencies across teams, and promote effective collaboration.

• Contribute to decisions regarding data architecture and pipeline design.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 8 years of experience in software engineering, including over 4 years in an engineering management role.

• Strong expertise in data engineering, including Spark/PySpark, ETL pipelines, and data quality frameworks.

• Proven experience managing distributed teams across different time zones, with a preference for US-India coordination.

• Demonstrated ability to build and scale engineering teams in a B2B SaaS environment.

• Familiarity with ML/AI systems and data preparation for model training is highly advantageous.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for delivery practices.

• Excellent communication skills across diverse geographies.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
