
Senior Manager, Contract Development, Provider Contracting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the functional leader for people and processes within designated Provider segments and contracting portfolios.
• Guide, mentor, and enhance the skills of contract development professionals by establishing priorities, reinforcing performance standards, supporting development planning, and enhancing team capabilities.
• Oversee daily team operations, including workload prioritization, resource allocation, assignment coordination, and escalation pathways to ensure timely and high-quality contract delivery.
• Hold complete accountability for the end-to-end contract development process for assigned Provider segments, encompassing contract drafting, interpretation, portfolio management, execution support, issue resolution, and process effectiveness.
• Convert approved pricing structures, commercial contracting models, and provider discount methodologies into clear, compliant, and operationally executable contract language.
• Design agreements to ensure operational feasibility, readiness for implementation, audit compliance, financial controls, and adherence to government pricing requirements.
• Create, sustain, and continuously enhance contract development standards, drafting quality expectations, review practices, governance routines, and process controls across assigned segments.
• Assess portfolio and process health through relevant routines, metrics, and stakeholder feedback, identifying opportunities for improving quality, cycle time, consistency, scalability, and execution readiness.
• Offer guidance and decision-oriented recommendations regarding contract language, structure, implementation considerations, contractual risk implications, and escalation matters.
• Lead the resolution of complex contract development challenges, interpretation inquiries, process barriers, implementation hurdles, and cross-functional alignment needs.
• Collaborate with Coverage & Pricing, Legal, Government Price Reporting, Contract Pricing Execution, Business Integration, and other stakeholders to facilitate contract development, implementation, operational execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Propel the modernization of contract lifecycle management capabilities, templates, workflows, reporting, and related processes to support a robust, compliant, and efficient contract development operating model.
• Cultivate an inclusive, accountable, and learning-oriented team environment through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and the development of functional expertise across the segment.
• Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in contract development, contracting, legal operations, pricing, market access, healthcare administration, or a related field OR Master's degree and 4 years of such experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of such experience OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of such experience OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of such experience.
• Proven experience in leading teams, projects, or workstreams with accountability for prioritization, deliverables, stakeholder alignment, and execution outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage or enhance business processes, operating routines, standards, or governance practices within a complex, matrixed, or regulated environment.
• Experience in influencing cross-functional partners, resolving ambiguity, and effectively communicating recommendations, risks, and trade-offs to facilitate business decisions.
