This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Responsible for month-end and period close activities for operational accounts, including reconciliations, journals, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Generate operational and management reports that encompass costs, margins, inventory, service volumes, and KPIs, along with providing explanations for variances.
• Manage accounting compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness across high-volume operational processes, distribution centers, and associated entities.
• Actively participate in the annual external audit process, which involves preparing schedules, coordinating audit requests, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Assist and lead various elements of the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Implement process improvements and automation strategies to minimize errors and streamline month-end efforts.
• Oversee and execute critical operational accounting processes, such as inventory reconciliations, cycle count results, adjustments, reserves, and variance analysis within warehouse and fulfillment settings.
• Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and FP&A teams to ensure that accounting practices accurately reflect business activities and facilitate scalable growth.
• Lead or assist in ERP conversions and systems initiatives, which include process mapping, testing, cutover readiness, issue resolution, training, and stabilization post-implementation.
• Spearhead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing process improvements, automation, reporting visibility, and financial controls within accounting operations.
• Create, document, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating practices to promote consistency, scalability, and compliance.
• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, emphasizing accounting compliance and operational accounting.
• Proven experience in logistics, fulfillment, distribution, warehousing, transportation, or other inventory-heavy operational environments.
• Strong grasp of GAAP principles and accounting processes.
• Experience in managing month-end close procedures and account reconciliations.
• Proficient in advanced Excel and ERP systems, with the capability to analyze large data sets, identify process gaps, and implement effective solutions.
• Background in supporting audits and maintaining internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred or in progress).
