Senior Mainframe Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Manage client systems data while providing daily solutions and ensuring security compliance.

• Supervise a queue of tasks and collaborate closely with technicians.

• Prioritize tickets to effectively deliver solutions for clients.

• Suggest modernization alternatives and pinpoint new business prospects.

• Build and nurture relationships with various teams and stakeholders.

• Execute z/OS automation software conversion and transformation.

• Develop integrations between z/OS automation software and platforms or tools such as z/VM, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MainView, ServiceNow, Remedy, and Netcool.

• Install, customize, and upgrade GDPS while incorporating new systems into existing GDPS environments.

• Implement, test, and validate Hyperswap.

• Create disaster recovery and high-availability processes.

• Prepare and validate software and hardware upgrades for mainframes, including z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2, and MQ.

• Design and maintain automated solutions utilizing change and incident management tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of automation tools such as Broadcom OPS MVS, MainView Auto Operator, IBM AF OPER, and System Automation.

• Profound REXX programming expertise.

• Experience in z/OS automation software conversion and transformation.

• Proven experience in integrating z/OS automation software with z/VM, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MainView, ServiceNow, Remedy, and Netcool.

• Background in installing, customizing, and upgrading GDPS.

• Familiarity with Hyperswap implementation, testing, and validation.

• Understanding of disaster recovery and high-availability processes.

• Experience in preparing and validating mainframe and software/hardware upgrades, including z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2, and MQ.

• Knowledge of change and incident management tools for developing and maintaining automated solutions.

• Proficiency in AI knowledge and practical implementation.

• Ability to communicate in English and/or Spanish.

• Preferred: Experience in mainframe modernization.

• Preferred: Familiarity with mainframe integration with hyperscaler solutions.
