Senior macOS Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, develop, and maintain features for native macOS applications and cross-platform C++ core libraries.

• Spearhead the development and optimization of software for Apple Silicon and the broader macOS ecosystem.

• Tackle complex platform-specific issues related to rendering, memory management, and multi-threading.

• Provide robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions to technically challenging problems.

• Promote continuous enhancement across software development, testing, and deployment workflows.

• Oversee and optimize Xcode builds, CMake configurations, and macOS CI/CD pipelines.

• Collect requirements and aid in the development of both new and existing products.

• Assist internal teams and external clients with Mac-specific deployments and technical challenges.

• Engage in technical investigations, innovation projects, and architectural decisions.

• Collaborate effectively within Agile development teams.

• Occasionally travel to other Andor offices and customer sites as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Software Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• At least 5 years of experience in a software development position.

• Strong expertise in C++ and object-oriented software design.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the macOS ecosystem, Apple Silicon architecture, Xcode, build pipelines, and memory profiling tools.

• Significant experience with Git, source control systems, and collaborative development methodologies.

• Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through testing and support.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and Clean Code principles.

• Excellent grasp of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity.

• Awareness of Agile software development methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and resolve complex technical issues.
