Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Training Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Participate in the advancement of Canva’s cohesive training platform tailored for AI training workloads.

• Enhance the reliability, observability, debugging processes, and operational support for training systems.

• Design and develop platform features to improve scheduling efficiency at scale and optimize resource management.

• Collaborate with research scientists, ML engineers, product teams, and cloud/infrastructure teams.

• Influence the platform roadmap by addressing user challenges and promoting long-term platform development.

• Mentor fellow engineers and disseminate best practices in AI systems and infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in training pipelines, distributed systems, or large-scale AI infrastructure.

• Proficient in working with Kubernetes and managing containerized workloads.

• Knowledgeable about contemporary cloud and infrastructure services designed for high-performance AI tasks.

• Strong sense of ownership and a passion for tackling complex challenges that affect multiple teams.

• Comfortable collaborating with engineers, applied scientists, and infrastructure partners.

• Driven to help establish platform foundations that facilitate AI-powered creativity on a large scale.
