This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop advanced machine learning models for innovative FlightAware Foresight products.
• Enhance current machine learning models.
• Create cutting-edge machine learning systems utilizing historical aviation data and extensive datasets.
• Construct models for runway landing times, gate arrival predictions, taxi durations, and other aviation forecasts.
• Handle large datasets and specialized large-scale data technologies.
• Tackle open-ended machine learning challenges and improve performance efficiency.
• Contribute innovative ideas and influence the direction of the Aviation Intelligence team.
• Enhance operational efficiency for airlines and airports through predictive aviation data.
• Supply models that drive the FlightAware Foresight product suite and provide real-time predictive aviation data for industry clients.
• Collaborate in an agile development environment.
• Generally requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for company immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Proficient knowledge of Python.
• Experience with TensorFlow/Keras or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with complex data types, including time series, images, and video.
• Capability to work within an agile development environment.
• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and GPU acceleration.
• Preferred: experience with graph neural networks.
• Preferred: experience with weather or other geospatial datasets.
• Preferred: experience with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, or similar tools.
• Preferred: knowledge of ETL orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or others.
• Preferred: familiarity with large-scale data processing systems like Iceberg, Spark, Elasticsearch.
• Preferred: experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises Kubernetes infrastructure.
