
Senior Machine Learning Engineer – DAS, Acoustic Sensing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Conduct research and validate machine learning techniques for detecting vessels using DAS technology.
• Train and modify deep learning and computer vision models for interpreting acoustic signals.
• Create proof-of-concept AI systems that integrate DAS and AIS datasets.
• Develop scalable machine learning workflows utilizing Vertex AI and MLFlow.
• Analyze vessel signatures, including engine, propeller, and vibration patterns.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve production-focused R&D results.
• Share findings, experiments, and validation outcomes with technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in training and fine-tuning deep learning models using PyTorch.
• Practical experience with computer vision and transformer-based architectures like DINO / Vision Transformers.
• Experience in building ML pipelines and tracking experiments with MLFlow and Vertex AI.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with modern AI development workflows.
• Experience dealing with time-series or signal processing data.
• Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguous R&D settings with changing requirements.
• Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with DAS, seismic, sonar, or other sensor-based systems.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS and geospatial indexing (H3).
• Experience in deploying ML systems on the Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of acoustic signal analysis and spectral methods.
• Experience with multimodal data fusion (combining vision and sensor data).
