Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the client's recommendation system from design through training, deployment, and monitoring.

• Develop and enhance ranking and retrieval models that analyze behavioral signals — such as clicks, opens, and purchases — at a consumer scale.

• Manage machine learning systems that handle hundreds of millions of events daily, directly influencing client revenue.

• Make autonomous technical decisions and interact directly with client engineering leadership, without intermediaries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Between 6 to 9 years of experience in software or data engineering roles.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in building and operating machine learning systems in a production environment.

• 2 to 3+ years specifically focused on recommendation systems as a primary area of expertise, rather than adjacent exposure.

• Practical experience with ranking and retrieval architectures, capable of discussing trade-offs based on real production experience.

• Proven experience managing systems at a consumer scale, handling hundreds of millions of events per day or more.

• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with a modern machine learning stack, including PyTorch or TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and feature engineering libraries.

• Proficiency in SQL for data exploration and validation purposes.

• Experience with production deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Fluent spoken and written English is essential, as this role requires direct technical discussions with US client engineering leaders.

• Proven ability to work autonomously in client or stakeholder-facing scenarios: managing scope, identifying blockers, and making independent decisions.
