This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the model lifecycle, encompassing requirements, experimentation, model development, evaluation, and model cards, while collaborating with ML engineers on deployment and production infrastructure.

• Convert intricate fraud patterns into clearly defined ML solutions, outlining what to model, how success is measured, and identifying where ML provides value compared to simpler methods.

• Create and manage feature engineering pipelines essential for model development.

• Oversee model quality in production by monitoring performance over time, identifying data drift, and assessing when retraining is necessary.

• Collaborate closely with leadership, go-to-market teams, fraud operations, product management, and engineering teams to define and implement effective fraud strategies.

• Foster a culture of ongoing learning, experimentation, and teamwork within the fraud and wider data science teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proactive, hands-on, and analytical individuals who are enthusiastic about leveraging data to tackle complex, real-world challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of experience in building and deploying machine learning systems in production environments.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL.

• Solid understanding of ML fundamentals, including model selection, evaluation methodologies, feature engineering, and common failure modes.

• Practical experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, and XGBoost (or similar gradient boosting frameworks).

• Exceptional attention to detail, a strong intellectual curiosity, and a profound understanding of user behavior and fraud patterns.

• An empathetic, humble, and collaborative team player.

• Candidates must reside within the continental United States.
