
Senior Learning Engineer β Lab Schools Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee 4 to 5 Lab Schools.
β’ Collaborate with the Lab Schools Learning Partner to co-steward the Cohort.
β’ Develop Customized AI Tools in partnership with educators and leaders, which include tailored assessment tools, knowledge-graph lesson planners, student-facing builders, and family communication applications aligned with each school's teaching philosophy.
β’ Mentor Embedded Regional Learning Educators based in NYC, Memphis, Austin, the DMV, and Tempe, enhancing their skills and guiding them toward becoming senior practitioners.
β’ Maintain the Rubric for Lab Schools Builds.
β’ Conduct High-Trust Coaching through drop-in sessions, asynchronous support, and one-on-one video coaching with the most proficient builders and leaders in the network.
β’ Assist in Co-Facilitating Quarterly Convenings.
β’ Contribute to initiatives beyond the Cohort as required.
β’ Relay Field Insights back to Playlab's product, engineering, and research teams to influence platform features and shared playbooks.
β’ Possess over 5 years of experience in classroom, instructional leadership, or school leadership, with a profound appreciation for the challenges of teaching.
β’ Demonstrate a proven track record as a senior builder in delivering ambitious AI tools utilizing advanced methodologies (multi-step flows, evaluator loops, knowledge grounding, agentic design).
β’ Have experience in mentoring or coaching educators, exhibiting both patience and high standards.
β’ Exhibit strong asynchronous and remote-first instincts, with an ability to build trust through video interactions and shared documents.
β’ Be proficient in prompting and AI app design, with a clear understanding of how teachers and students utilize AI in real classroom settings.
β’ Showcase strong skills in curation and documentation (build logs, playbooks, walkthroughs, recorded sessions) that effectively aid others in their learning.
β’ Be comfortable taking on a primary anchor role (the lab schools cohort) while remaining adaptable to adjacent responsibilities as team priorities shift.
β’ Prioritize equity and access at the forefront of all initiatives.
β’ Be committed to the entire 24-month cohort cycle, which includes four quarterly three-day convenings.
