This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Accountable for the setup, execution, performance monitoring, testing, and integrity of a substantial IBM MQ implementation utilizing SMPE.
• Collaborate with Development, Operations, and various technical teams on both new and ongoing MQ project implementations.
• Optimize IBM MQ system configurations for maximum performance and availability.
• Enhance and refine MQ operational procedures, standards, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with security policies (RACF/SAF integration) and regulatory standards.
• Implement and sustain automation for MQ operations (e.g., queue manager recycling, health checks, and alerting).
• Manage MQ Queue Managers, including configuration, tuning, and performance enhancement.
• Engage in Disaster Recovery planning and execution, guaranteeing MQ readiness across data centers.
• Monitor MQ system performance, availability, and capacity, taking proactive steps to avert issues.
• Capable of providing global on-call support.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients to implement MQ solutions and resolve issues.
• Conduct dump analysis and determine root causes of system problems and outages.
• Diagnose Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ.
• Assess and propose modifications to current and future system software requirements to fulfill the organization's objectives.
• Ensure thorough documentation of all relevant operational processes and procedures.
• Over 8 years of experience as a Mainframe MQ System Programmer.
• Proficient in MQ for z/OS installation and upgrades (ShopzSeries, SMP/E).
• Strong troubleshooting abilities using the MQ command line and monitoring tools.
• Familiar with MQ Explorer, Tivoli, Omegamon, SYSVIEW, BMC MainView, MQATTACH, ICC.
• Acquainted with MQ clustering and distributed integration.
• Understanding of security configurations, workload management, and automation scripting.
• Install, configure, and maintain WMQ and related system software.
• Experience with Queue Sharing Groups (QSG) and Coupling Facility.
• Monitor system performance and availability, implementing necessary tuning adjustments.
• Conduct system backups, recovery, and troubleshooting for MQ issues.
• Knowledgeable in JCL and z/OS utilities.
• Understanding of MQ security (RACF/SAF).
• Develop automation scripts for monitoring, alerting, and problem resolution.
• Ensure security compliance and implement best practices for MQ security.
• Design clustering and workload balancing strategies for high availability.
• Support on-call rotations for extended-hour coverage.
