Senior Landscape Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Utilize UE5’s sculpting, painting, foliage, and spline tools, along with external DCC tools such as Gaea or World Machine, to create immersive landscapes.

• Design and implement diverse biomes that include natural elements like rocks, decals, roads, and embankments.

• Construct and manage landscape materials using the Unreal shader system.

• Create high-quality materials utilizing Quixel Mixer or Substance Designer.

• Employ procedural tools such as PCG or Houdini for the efficient placement of grass, trees, rocks, and other natural assets.

• Ensure landscapes are visually stunning and performance-friendly, in line with the artistic direction.

• Collaborate with design, lighting, and technical teams to uphold quality and consistency.

• Seek guidance and approval from Lead Artists as necessary to progress tasks.

• Continuously enhance artistic skills and acquire knowledge of new software packages and/or in-house tools.

• Work alongside Senior and/or Lead Artists, mentoring Junior 3D Artists and sharing best practices for projects.

• Foster a collaborative team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in UE5 and familiarity with Perforce.

• Experience with 3D software such as Blender, Maya, or 3Ds Max.

• Knowledge of terrain generation software, specifically Gaea or World Machine.

• Understanding of the Unreal Engine Landscape system and Material Graph.

• Comprehension of biome asset creation, including embankment, road modules, rocks, landscape patches, decals, and small set dressing assets.

• Experience in material creation with Quixel Mixer and Substance Designer is a significant advantage, as is knowledge of the Houdini plugin for Unreal Engine.
