This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Oversee all litigation related to employment matters.
• Participate in developing litigation and/or settlement strategies.
• Manage settlement discussions effectively.
• Identify external counsel and supervise associated fees and expenses.
• Serve as a communication bridge between external counsel and the involved ABB Business Unit.
• Develop strategies for Union contracts and engage in Union negotiations.
• Address Union-related matters, including union avoidance, organizing campaigns, and labor arbitrations.
• Offer legal advice on employment issues to reduce potential legal risks.
• Provide interpretation and guidance on employment restrictive covenants.
• Supervise all legal administrative charges from external federal or state agencies.
• Manage and facilitate mediations arising from external claims.
• Deliver compliance training related to employment matters.
• Juris Doctor Degree is required.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in US Employment and Labor Law.
• Additional Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources is preferred.
• Previous litigation experience or substantial in-house litigation management experience.
• Technical proficiency in researching, reviewing, and understanding local, state, and federal employment laws as they pertain to the Company’s operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiations.
• Exceptional communication abilities (both verbal and written) with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, collaborative, and follow-up skills.
• Experience working in a multinational environment.
