Senior Java Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Java-based backend applications and microservices with an emphasis on performance and reliability.

• Create Spring Boot applications adhering to best practices in clean coding, testing, and performance enhancement.

• Collaborate closely with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications while integrating CI/CD pipelines.

• Utilize events to construct robust, asynchronous systems that facilitate scalability and promote decoupled services.

• Design and manage effective relational database integrations that guarantee data integrity and system responsiveness.

• Participate in architectural discussions, conduct code reviews, and advocate for best practices.

• Leverage hands-on AI code companions and intelligent development tools to boost productivity.

• Mentor junior developers and nurture a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development utilizing Java 8 or higher.

• Full stack development experience with expertise in both backend and frontend technologies (Angular or React).

• Strong proficiency in Spring Boot and the Spring framework ecosystem.

• Practical experience in designing and implementing RESTful microservices.

• Skilled in writing optimized SQL queries and managing databases.

• Familiarity with Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, message-driven systems, and distributed architectures.

• Good knowledge of Docker, orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for automated building and deployment.

• Experience with Git, Agile development methodologies, and Cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).

• Practical experience with AI code companions and intelligent development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, JetBrains AI Assistant, or similar solutions).

• Strong English communication skills; proficiency in German is an advantage.
