Senior Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Design and evolve robust Java APIs (REST), both internally and for partners, ensuring effective error handling and security.

• Implement and extend integrations: HTTP clients, request/response mappings, idempotency, and retries where applicable.

• Work with AWS and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or orchestration depending on the project).

• Build and maintain domain-decoupled services while collaborating with other teams whenever workflows intersect.

• Contribute to the observability of production systems: structured logs, metrics, and traces.

• Optimize performance and stability as required by the service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong Java skills (Spring Boot or equivalent) with a clear track record in APIs.

• Real-world experience with AWS in a production environment, or a comparable cloud platform.

• Experience with containers: Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

• Design of REST APIs and consumption of third-party APIs.

• Observability in production (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools).

• Genuine seniority: not just years of experience, but also technical judgment.

• Ability to design solutions and discuss trade-offs in the context of integrations.

• Autonomy in decision-making and delivering end-to-end quality outcomes.

• Experience with medium to high complexity systems: concurrency, distributed integrations, and consistency.
