Senior Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs for software products.

• Guarantee quality, security, and an outstanding customer experience.

• Address intricate challenges utilizing sustainable engineering methodologies.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on technical and product-related decisions.

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services (REST APIs) emphasizing availability, performance, and security.

• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.

• Implement and uphold security standards.

• Perform code reviews and maintain standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.

• Monitor and improve performance.

• Enable observability and respond to incidents effectively.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, SRE/Cloud, and Support teams.

• Serve as a technical mentor, guiding less experienced developers and advocating for best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong backend development experience with Java (preferably version 17 or higher).

• Proficient in object-oriented programming and SOLID principles.

• Familiarity with Spring Boot and hexagonal architecture.

• Understanding of event-driven architectures (e.g., SNS/SQS, domain events).

• Experience with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI (Swagger) documentation.

• Knowledge of Maven (or Gradle) for build and dependency management.

• AWS: practical experience with SNS, SQS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, ECR, and DocumentDB/MongoDB.

• Docker/docker-compose experience and basic knowledge of Kubernetes (including manifests, Deployments, Services, and troubleshooting with kubectl).

• Understanding of observability concepts: logs, metrics, and tracing.

• Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases, including data modeling and querying.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and agile methodologies (branching strategies, pipelines, PRs, feature flags).

• Knowledge of application security best practices: OWASP (ASVS/Top 10), JWT/JWS, mTLS, and secrets management.

• Experience in critical, high-availability environments.

• Knowledge of Identity & Security: experience with Identity & Access Management (Keycloak or similar) and production implementation of OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect.
