Senior IT Infrastructure – Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance enterprise IT infrastructure.

• Oversee physical and virtual server environments across various locations.

• Administer both Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal availability, performance, and scalability.

• Conduct capacity planning, resource allocation, system upgrades, migrations, and server lifecycle management.

• Manage Active Directory, which includes Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and Organizational Units (OUs).

• Handle user provisioning, permissions, authentication, and access control.

• Apply best practices for identity and access management.

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot VMware environments.

• Oversee virtual machines, storage, snapshots, and resource allocation.

• Enhance virtualization performance while supporting high-availability and disaster recovery environments.

• Manage Windows Server roles and services.

• Administer Linux systems using command-line tools and shell scripting.

• Configure services, file systems, permissions, scheduled tasks, and troubleshoot OS, hardware, and application issues.

• Monitor and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity and network performance issues.

• Support configurations for firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers.

• Manage endpoint protection, patching, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure security.

• Ensure data protection, backup integrity, and compliance with IT security policies.

• Oversee backup and recovery solutions for critical systems.

• Monitor system health, logs, alerts, and overall server performance.

• Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 infrastructure support.

• Troubleshoot server, network, hardware, and software issues.

• Collaborate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and technical support.

• Support enterprise IT operations across both office and server environments.

• Maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Prepare infrastructure reports and assist with IT audits.

• Ensure adherence to organizational IT standards and security policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or enterprise IT operations.

• Technical Skills:

• Enterprise IT infrastructure architecture.

• Windows Server administration.

• Linux administration along with shell command proficiency.

• Familiarity with VMware and virtualization technologies.

• Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and domain environments.

• Knowledge of server-client architecture.

• Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools.

• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Knowledge of firewall, endpoint security, and system hardening.

• Skills in hardware troubleshooting and server maintenance.

• Network troubleshooting and system diagnostics capabilities.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in VMware, Microsoft, Linux, or networking.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.

• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and IT governance standards.

• Experience in supporting enterprise or multi-branch IT environments.
