This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Establish and manage Leave of Absence, Voluntary Disability, Paid Family Leave, Short Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability Claims in line with TRISTAR ICS protocols.

• Operate effectively with minimal supervision required.

• Demonstrate sound judgment regarding when to seek supervisory assistance or raise concerns.

• Provide backup support for the supervisor on various administrative duties.

• Serve as a mentor and trainer for other staff members, acting as a technical resource.

• Oversee, monitor, and assess eligibility for all job-protected leaves, including federal, statutory, and employer-sponsored leaves (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PLOA).

• Act as a resource for clients and staff about the requirements and regulations of the aforementioned leaves alongside company benefits and internal leave policies.

• Adhere to established procedures and policies to process disability/PFL claims promptly and efficiently.

• Coordinate the coverage and administration of insured programs with the relevant carrier.

• Build and maintain relationships with clients and their employees to ensure customer service objectives are achieved.

• Administer and manage appropriate check cycle payments and procedures.

• Facilitate return-to-work initiatives with the claimant, provider, and client.

• Respond to all telephone claims inquiries from claimants, clients, and carriers within 24 hours.

• Deliver the highest quality of customer service.

• Adhere to attendance policies, ensuring consistency in work schedule and punctuality.

• Perform all other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement).

• One (1) year of experience in an administrative office environment (preferred).

• Over 5 years of prior experience in Leave of Absence and/or related disability matters.

• Must be organized and capable of accurately documenting files.

• Comprehensive understanding of Federal and Statutory regulations pertaining to FMLA, CFRA, and PDL.

• Ability to understand and integrate these programs with VDI, STD, and VDI benefits.

• Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, and Web-based applications.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees, supervisors, and external providers with tact and diplomacy when conveying decisions.

• Capacity to educate and provide guidance on sensitive and complex matters.

• Strong planning and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

• Ability to resolve practical issues and interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
