Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within a project team environment alongside engineers and designers engaged in the design, modification, and analysis of both new and existing power plant control systems.

• Conduct investigations, troubleshoot, and resolve a diverse array of electrical controls engineering challenges, including Digital Systems Design Development.

• Create and evaluate detailed calculations, encompassing scaling, uncertainty, and setpoint calculations for both digital and analog controls applications.

• Engage with vendors to facilitate document reviews and generate materials and equipment purchase specifications.

• Develop reports and studies that convey technical information clearly and concisely to fulfill client requirements.

• Conduct independent reviews of work executed by others, including design documentation, specifications, calculations, and drawings.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

• A minimum of seven years’ experience in the design engineering of instrumentation and controls systems within a project team environment for commercial and industrial applications, particularly focusing on integrated, detailed system design modifications for existing nuclear power plants.

• Selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, along with the preparation of design packages, calculations, and specifications.

• Proficiency in controls system design, including applications for low and medium voltage distribution systems and controls for equipment such as turbines, pumps, feedwater controls, and data displays.

• Strong technical knowledge of available equipment and established pre-engineered systems to effectively implement systems design.

• Experience serving as the firm's client liaison in a support or lead engineering capacity.

• Background in reviewing design documentation.

• PE license is preferred.
