Senior Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer, Fintech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Rapidly implement and modify infrastructure using Terraform, Pulumi, or other leading Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Proficient in Docker; possess a thorough understanding of how to design, construct, and optimize secure, multi-stage Dockerfiles.

• Design, build, and oversee reliable CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment across various environments.

• Provision and manage foundational services; in-depth expertise in at least one major provider is essential, with the ability to transfer skills to others.

• Proficient in at least one major container platform: EKS, GKE, ECS, Fargate, or Cloud Run. Kubernetes experience is highly regarded, particularly with EKS or GKE.

• Understand when to utilize load balancers and VPNs for secure connectivity, as well as private VPCs for isolation. Implement subnetting, routing, VPC peering, and NAT gateways to create secure systems.

• Familiarity with S3 (AWS) or Cloud Storage (GCP).

• Experience with RDS (AWS) or CloudSQL (GCP).

• Deploy event-driven components using AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, or similar services.

• Safeguard personally identifiable information (PII); implement encryption, secrets management, network firewalls, and web application firewalls (AWS WAF, GCP Cloud Armor) in line with security best practices.

• Develop high-quality automation and tools in Go, Python, Node.js, or Bash to address client-specific operational challenges.

• Ensure robust monitoring and maintain high system uptime.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of dedicated experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.

• Tooling expertise: proficient with Docker, Kubernetes (k8s), and Terraform/Pulumi.

• Extensive, proven experience in either AWS or GCP infrastructure, with the capability to quickly understand and transition to other cloud providers.

• Strong skills in writing clean, maintainable code for automation in Go, Python, or Node.js.

• Demonstrable experience in implementing and maintaining modern cloud security controls and adhering to key compliance standards (SOC 2, PIPEDA, HIPAA, and/or GDPR).

• Proven capability to quickly onboard, identify issues, and propose and implement solutions with minimal supervision. Experienced in a consulting or freelance role, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
