Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Developing, constructing, and managing the essential systems that support Scrunch's platform – encompassing cloud infrastructure, developer tools, as well as observability and reliability.

• The infrastructure at Scrunch is crucial to our business: our clients rely on it, and you will have a significant influence on how we scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess experience in a fast-paced software development environment.

• Have a background in designing, constructing, and managing cloud services at scale, ideally on GCP.

• Have experience deploying and managing edge compute functions, and comprehend when it is appropriate to execute logic at the edge versus deeper in the stack.

• Treat infrastructure as software that is versioned, tested, and deployed via automation instead of relying on one-off console operations. Familiarity with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools is advantageous.

• Have a comprehensive understanding of database performance and scaling strategies, along with practical experience in identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they lead to outages.

• Be acquainted with workflow orchestration tools or job queue systems such as Prefect, Airflow, Temporal, Inngest, or similar, and feel at ease designing reliable, retryable asynchronous pipelines.

• Have a strong grounding in building observable systems, which includes structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics dashboards, and alerting.

• Be capable of writing production-quality code (primarily in Python) and approach infrastructure tasks with a software engineering mindset.
