Senior Import/Export Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the management of air and ocean import shipments, including tracking, customs clearance, ISF filings, and tariff classification.

• Coordinate all aspects of ocean and air import shipments, encompassing customs clearance (7501), ISF filings, HTS classification, and necessary documentation.

• Review and audit customs broker activities to ensure prompt invoice approvals.

• Keep electronic records of 7501 forms for proper recordkeeping.

• Trace shipments and update internal customers on their status.

• Collaborate with various customs brokers, freight forwarders, trucking companies, steamship lines, agents, and both internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide assistance with freight claims and documentation for Duty Drawback claims.

• Possess knowledge of the C-TPAT program and facilitate its implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a customs broker.

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

• Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Oracle.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Knowledge of 19 CFR, HTSUS, C-TPAT, and FTA regulations.

• A college degree is preferred.

• 3-5 years of customs broker experience in import/export, classification, and compliance.
