This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Monitor all project deliverables pertaining to grid compliance and provide monthly updates on status and challenges.
• Anticipate and manage changes in the scope of grid code compliance, identify potential risks, and develop contingency strategies.
• Assist the Commissioning Manager in creating realistic commissioning schedules and test management plans for grid code compliance.
• Participate in all relevant meetings with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and the National Electricity System Operator (NESO).
• Review and provide feedback on grid code compliance studies and modeling.
• Engage and oversee power systems engineering consultants as needed.
• Prepare technical documentation and Scope of Work for power system consultants when required.
• Evaluate and provide input on Client technical documents and scopes of work during the tender bid process, assisting the Applications Team with grid code compliance.
• Support the Project Execution Team in drafting contractual notices related to scope changes and other grid connection issues.
• Collaborate with sub-contractor grid compliance and interface managers to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
• Manage Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) models (such as PCS, PPC) and facilitate necessary support between power system engineers and OEM model providers.
• Assist the commissioning team in organizing grid compliance testing conducted by NESO/DNO.
• Respond to or coordinate responses to grid compliance testing and data requests from NESO/DNOs.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power System Engineering.
• Chartered engineer status and membership with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in renewable generation connections to transmission or distribution networks.
• Familiarity with the grid connection process and G99/Full grid code requirements, including an understanding of BELLA and BEGA arrangements.
• Experience with grid code compliance studies and grid model testing in generation, transmission, and/or distribution systems.
• Proficient in voltage fluctuation and imbalance modeling and assessment (P28/P29).
• Skilled in harmonics modeling and assessment (G5/5).
• Comprehensive knowledge of all legal and technical documentation relevant to UK grid connections.
• Experience with static and dynamic modeling tools/software (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
