This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute pre-award grant responsibilities for intricate proposals, including program projects, ARPA-H, DOD, and DOE applications.
• Collaborate with faculty on the preparation and submission of proposals.
• Oversee proposal budgets, analyses, and justifications.
• Collect protocol information and non-technical components of proposals.
• Act as a liaison between the Chair, faculty, and department administrators.
• Keep track of developments and regulations in federal and university research administration.
• Coordinate the submission of documents, pricing quotes, signatures, agency forms, online budget documents, and subaward setups.
• Collaborate with Post-award and OSRS to execute contracts and subcontracts.
• Review complicated notices of award, communicating special terms, conditions, and committed efforts.
• Monitor annual agency reports, including RPPRs.
• Facilitate the transfer of grants and contracts to and from WashU.
• Assist with research compliance requests related to biosketches, trainees, and approvals for human or animal protocols.
• Analyze metrics related to grant submissions, awards, rejections, and funding trends.
• Develop action plans and deadline reminders for continuations, renewals, and progress reports.
• Finalize complex sponsored project accounts and submit concluding reports and invention statements.
• Manage sophisticated sponsored-project budgets, expenditures, reconciliations, subawards, and purchasing documents.
• Handle correspondence with grant agencies, budget changes, prior approvals, no-cost extensions, and carry-forward requests.
• Maintain grant databases and prepare monthly financial reports for PIs and senior leadership.
• Aid in fund reconciliation, spending oversight, overdrafts, cost-sharing commitments, and budget modifications.
• Provide guidance on fund management to PIs and process necessary budgetary adjustments.
• Prepare invoices and monitor sponsor payments where applicable.
• Assist senior leadership with special projects and carry out additional assigned tasks.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may fulfill the minimum education requirement.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in managing complex pre-award and post-award sponsored projects.
• Familiarity with S2S, Research Management System (RMS), and SUBS system is preferred.
• Knowledge of agency guidelines is preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting processes and computerized accounting.
• Computer literacy along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics and Workday Software.
• Understanding of grant administration.
• Strong skills in deadline management.
• Excellent analytical and written communication abilities.
• No specific certification or professional license is necessary.
• A driver's license is not required.
