Senior Golang Engineer, Backend

📋 Description

• Design, architect, implement, review, and test frameworks, libraries, tools, and services primarily utilizing Go.

• Engage in requirement, design, planning, and retrospective meetings as a key member of an Agile software development team.

• Contribute to successful sprints by implementing elements that support overall team objectives.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate within the organization and the wider community.

• Actively maintain Mirantis projects by overseeing contributions and patches to open-source projects, reviewing submissions, and participating in design decisions.

• Engage in product discussions, influence the roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility for new projects to drive them to completion.

• Be the technical reference for external partners and internal engineering teams, providing support by sharing knowledge and/or undertaking development efforts.

• Contribute to testing through automation and test plan reviews to prevent bugs from entering the product and eliminate regressions, ensuring a quality product with every build.

• Ensure that MSR remains a top-tier and essential part of diverse customer solutions, functioning seamlessly with existing systems, including popular orchestrators and other industry-standard components.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field.

• Proficient in debugging, particularly in multi-process, orchestrated, distributed systems.

• Familiar with the creation and utilization of containerization, Kubernetes, and Registries (Harbor preferred).

• Over 5 years of development experience in a Linux or other Unix-like environment.

• At least 3 years of experience with the Go programming language or another modern programming language that builds production applications.

• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or Go tooling projects.

• Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or DCA.

• Experience with additional programming languages, including shell scripting and Python.

• Familiarity with container registries (Harbor/MSR), OCI specs, Docker, and/or Swarm.

• Familiarity with Karpathy-7 is a plus.
