Senior Go/Golang Software Engineer – Energy Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Join gridX and contribute to the digital transformation of the energy sector, making renewable energy accessible and affordable across the globe.

• Be a part of the Energy Optimizer team, dedicated to developing a cutting-edge energy management solution aimed at enhancing energy consumption and production in Home Energy Management Systems.

• Take ownership of features from initial conception through to implementation, deployment, and monitoring on our fleet of IoT devices.

• Review pull requests and collaborate with fellow developers to enhance software architecture, testing protocols, and documentation.

• Keep an eye on potential tech debt and scaling bottlenecks within our codebase, raising issues in a proactive manner.

• Manage our daily operations while driving improvements to internal processes to elevate our quality of service.

• Create software that developers enjoy maintaining and APIs that stakeholders find beneficial.

• Anticipate and proactively tackle challenges arising from evolving customer needs and product scaling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience with distributed software systems and web technologies (REST, gRPC), as well as container technologies like Docker.

• Proficient in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java; our primary language is Go).

• Passionate about energy systems and the development of a future-oriented energy management system.

• Familiar with the control and optimization of physical systems (preferably in the context of energy or grid management).

• Knowledgeable in distributed software system design and best practices, always eager to share your expertise with fellow engineers on the team.

• Bonus Points: Ideally, you possess experience with large IoT fleets (monitoring/observability), a background in renewable energy and open-source, and the flexibility for regular test lab visits in Aachen.
