
Senior Go Engineer – IoT, Energy Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Develop the integration layer for a distributed energy platform.
• Create systems that enable thousands of devices from various manufacturers to communicate reliably with our platform in real-world settings.
• Execute integrations based on datasheets and protocol standards.
• Design robust systems capable of handling unreliable communication and real-world timing challenges.
• Transition imperative drivers into declarative integration frameworks.
• Troubleshoot low-level communication issues using tools such as tcpdump and register dumps.
• Contribute to protocol specifications, tooling, and the architecture of integrations.
• Work collaboratively with firmware teams, hardware manufacturers, partners, and domain specialists.
• Mentor colleagues and influence technical direction across teams.
• Pragmatic approach: You prioritize delivering reliable solutions, iterate swiftly, and minimize unnecessary complexity.
• Sense of ownership: You take accountability beyond just implementation — engaging in architecture, debugging, and ensuring operational reliability in the field.
• Product-oriented mindset: You consider the impact of your work on users, partners, and the wider energy ecosystem.
• Passion for the field: You are enthusiastic about complex systems, connected hardware, and renewable energy technology.
• Commitment to engineering excellence: You produce maintainable Go code, think critically about system design, and enjoy enhancing tooling, architecture, and developer experience.
• Preferred: Experience with IoT or systems related to embedded technology.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
• Contributions to open-source initiatives.
• Proficiency in German and/or Mandarin is a plus.
• Flexible & mobile working: Work remotely for up to 70 days from anywhere in the EU.
