This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Executes initiatives for process enhancement and automation within the tax department.
• Oversees and sustains financial reporting tax data and processes associated with TBO, ITBO, ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP), Global Access, and ONESOURCE Income Tax (OIT) systems.
• Updates tax systems to reflect changes in GAAP, STAT, or Tax legislation and modifies accounts or entities within the Assurant consolidated group.
• Creates, updates, and shares reporting tools (including Microsoft BI Cubes, Microsoft Power BI, SSRS reports, Analytic Workbooks, etc.) along with validation reports.
• Provides training and guidance on tax technology to personnel in the global tax department.
• Conducts data processing for Federal & State Compliance and Quarterly Reporting in preparation and analysis.
• At least 2 years of comprehensive tax experience related to systems, process enhancement, and/or tax technology.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing SEC/GAAP financial statement tax provisions.
• Familiarity with Corporate Federal and State Compliance.
• Knowledge of generative AI, robotic process automation (RPA), and Microsoft Power Platform.
• Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
• CPA or CA certification is mandatory.
• Experience in taxation within the Insurance/Financial services sector.
• Relevant Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL or Python coding.
