Senior Global Revenue Recognition Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete revenue recognition process for software licenses, SaaS, and professional services, ensuring adherence to IFRS 15 and local GAAP across 20 countries.

• Review and interpret customer contracts, working closely with Sales, Legal, and Business Operations to evaluate accounting implications and enhance deal structures.

• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for revenue and related accounts, guaranteeing timely and precise results.

• Prepare, assess, and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) under both IFRS and HGB, ensuring compliance and transparency.

• Coordinate and consolidate group reporting activities to meet both internal and external reporting requirements.

• Create and sustain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a robust financial reporting framework.

• Draft technical accounting memos and documentation for audit and internal purposes.

• Provide support for internal and external audits with confidence and clarity, serving as a key contact for revenue and reporting issues.

• Continuously enhance financial systems and processes, focusing on automation, efficiency, and scalability within a cloud-first environment.

• Act as a trusted advisor on revenue and financial reporting matters throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field — CPA, ACCA, or equivalent credentials are highly advantageous.

• Over 6 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the software or professional services industries.

• Extensive knowledge of IFRS (particularly IFRS 15) and HGB, with the ability to apply it effectively in dynamic, real-world scenarios.

• Significant experience in financial statement preparation, group reporting, and consolidation.

• Familiarity with SAP ERP, ideally S/4 HANA, and a strong interest in utilizing technology to enhance processes.

• Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to convey complex topics with clarity.

• Proficient in both English and German.
