This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Develop and sustain product features along with essential backend components, which include services, integrations, and internal workflows.
• Produce production-ready code and lightweight prototypes to swiftly validate concepts.
• Create automated tests and proactively resolve issues to ensure stable releases, as engineers are responsible for quality without a dedicated QA team.
• Assist in proof-of-concepts and experiments by establishing test cases, evaluating outcomes, and enhancing areas where quality is lacking.
• Document systems and workflows to enable others to run, maintain, and extend your creations.
• Convert business challenges into clear AI tasks and implement comprehensive solutions with guidance from technical leaders.
• Prepare and sustain data and test cases utilized for measuring output quality.
• Utilize common AI application patterns such as prompting, leveraging internal knowledge sources, and invoking external tools or APIs.
• Assess quality using repeatable evaluation techniques, including automated checks and structured human reviews when necessary.
• Contribute to production readiness through versioning, monitoring, basic performance and cost awareness, along with usage tracking.
• Adhere to privacy, security, and compliance standards in collaboration with Legal and Security teams.
• Balance exploration with delivery—rapidly test ideas and then productionize successful outcomes.
• Ensure quality objectives are achieved, followed by ongoing improvements in accuracy, cost, and performance.
• Take ownership of systems from end to end, including building, releasing, and ensuring operational reliability.
• Over 4 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of building and deploying production systems within product teams.
• More than 4 years of practical technical experience in writing production-quality code.
• Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, including system design and scalable architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript (or similar languages), including the development of APIs, services, and data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability practices.
• An experimentation mindset—capable of defining metrics, creating evaluation frameworks, and quickly iterating in uncertain problem environments.
• A keen interest in learning and applying GenAI technologies in practical, production settings.
