Senior Full Stack Engineer, Ruby, Front End, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain comprehensive full stack features across both backend and frontend layers, taking complete ownership of your deliverables.

• Primarily utilize Ruby on Rails for backend development, while also considering equivalent experience in Python, Rust, or Go.

• Create and maintain user-friendly frontend interfaces using modern frameworks and languages, enhancing the overall user experience.

• Integrate AI tools and methodologies into your engineering practices, from code generation and review to broader problem-solving and productivity enhancement.

• Approach your work with a product-oriented mindset, understanding user needs, business context, and the trade-offs associated with each technical decision.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in engineering, design, and product teams to deliver features that are well-defined, meticulously built, and thoroughly tested.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and the establishment of engineering standards, elevating the quality expectations across the team.

• Proactively identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability issues.

• Take the initiative in uncertain situations, propose viable solutions, advance decisions, and deliver results with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, focusing on full stack or backend-heavy roles.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in a production setting, with exceptional candidates possessing equivalent expertise in Python, Rust, or Go also being considered.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with frontend languages or frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, TypeScript, JavaScript) in production-quality applications.

• Proven fluency with AI tools, including active and confident usage (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) integrated into your daily engineering workflow for at least 1 year.

• Strong comprehension of software architecture, API design, database modeling, and system performance across the entire stack.

• Experience in writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code with a commitment to high standards of quality and documentation.

• At least 2 years of experience in product-driven engineering environments, showcasing a proven ability to think beyond the task at hand, understanding user needs, business objectives, and product trade-offs.

• Comfortable working autonomously with a high level of ownership; capable of self-direction, effective prioritization, and delivery without close oversight.

• Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in dynamic teams where priorities shift and adaptability is highly valued.
