Senior Full Stack Engineer, Python/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Forager's client-facing web application using React, TypeScript, and Django/Python.

• Create and manage RESTful APIs for integrations, data feeds, and customer workflows on the platform.

• Build scalable backend services — including workers, task queues, and data pipelines — to ensure predictable refresh cycles and high fill rates.

• Engage actively in product planning to influence which features deliver the most significant impact for customers.

• Construct and manage Elasticsearch indices for searching people and companies — focusing on schema, data ingestion, relevance, and scalability.

• Design and implement ETL applications to transfer data into searchable repositories, feeds, and warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, S3).

• Enhance PostgreSQL performance through query optimization, indexing, and cache utilization.

• Propel measurable advancements in latency, uptime, error rates, and scalability.

• Oversee daily AWS infrastructure management (ECS, S3, etc.) in collaboration with the DevOps team.

• Manage CI/CD processes, observability (using Grafana, CloudWatch, Sentry), and on-call responses for the systems you develop.

• Collaborate with the team to maintain crawler infrastructure.

• Conduct code reviews adhering to high standards for readability, security, and performance.

• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, ensuring test reliability is a valuable contribution rather than a burden.

• Document features, architecture, and API contracts; exceptional developer documentation is essential for customer success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and maintaining production web applications and APIs.

• Strong expertise in Python/Django and React/TypeScript.

• Practical experience in managing Elasticsearch at scale, including schema design, query optimization, and cluster management.

• Production experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and asynchronous task systems (e.g., Celery, RabbitMQ, or similar).

• Proven experience in constructing and operating ETL pipelines that reliably handle substantial data volumes.

• Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, S3, CloudWatch) and CI/CD pipelines (like GitHub Actions or equivalent).

• Experience in operating services in a production environment, including observability, on-call duties, and incident response.

• Excellent written communication skills; comfortable taking ownership of documentation as a deliverable.

• Daily utilization of AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) for implementation, refactoring, and code review.

• Ability to design, orchestrate, and debug multi-step agent pipelines (e.g., research → plan → implement → verify loops, MCP server integration, tool use design).

• Sound judgment regarding when AI is beneficial versus detrimental — knowing when to delegate to an agent, when to write code independently, and how to ensure an agent remains aligned with production tasks.
