Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Backend focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for the comprehensive development of our platform, focusing on creating high-quality, user-oriented experiences.

• Participate in the design and architecture of systems, helping to define APIs, data models, and service boundaries.

• Develop and maintain backend services, PostgreSQL databases, and the underlying infrastructure.

• Engage with the web layer by constructing and integrating frontend features, while contributing to the enhancement of application performance and test coverage.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid EU work permit and proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a small team.

• Comfortable taking charge of projects from initial concept through to execution.

• Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to articulate complex ideas clearly, present decisions effectively, and write readable, maintainable code.

• Extensive professional experience in modern full-stack development (7+ years) — Essential.

• Strong skills in Node.js, with considerable experience in relational databases, cloud engineering, and authentication systems.

• Familiarity with contemporary development practices, including unit, integration, E2E, and load testing.

• Proficient in TypeScript and knowledgeable about browser rendering pipelines.

• Awareness of our current technology stack, which includes React, Next.js/Tanstack Start, PostgreSQL, Prisma, tRPC, GoogleCloud Platform, Auth0 by Okta, Playwright, and Tailwind CSS.

• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments is a plus, but not mandatory.
