This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of each project from start to finish: covering backend, frontend, deployment, and post-launch iterations.
• Create and implement AI agents that engage with customers, linked to measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Lead AI Architect on the architecture and continuous development of Cardiff's AI platform.
• Develop solutions that integrate with our shared tools: Salesforce, Snowflake, Gmail, Zoom, Slack, and other internal systems.
• Prioritize utilizing top-tier open-source solutions before building from the ground up: when the work isn't core IP, adopting a robust community project (for instance, Buzz, the agent-native workspace recently open-sourced by Block) is preferable to managing the support and upgrade responsibilities of a custom-built version.
• Make AI tooling your primary method of development, and review its outputs before deployment.
• Deliver a functional version 1 today and enhance it on Monday, rather than waiting a month for a 'perfect' version 1.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with senior-level accountability for production systems.
• Experience shipping production features using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Devin, or similar tools as your main development approach, rather than as occasional trials.
• A recent instance (within the past six months) demonstrating the use of AI tooling to achieve results 3–5 times faster than traditional methods.
• Proficiency across the technology stack: Python, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, REST/GraphQL, and cloud deployment (AWS preferred).
• Expertise in agent orchestration (loops, graphs, multi-step tool usage, multi-agent patterns; LangGraph or similar), with practical experience in LLM APIs, RAG and vector databases, prompt engineering, and evaluations in production, not merely prototypes.
• Ability to make informed decisions about build-vs-adopt: knowledgeable enough in the open-source AI landscape to select a strong community project instead of creating what already exists.
• Strong engineering fundamentals to identify when AI outputs are incorrect.
• Preferred: Experience with Salesforce APIs, Snowflake, or fintech/lending data models.
• Contributions to open-source AI initiatives.
• Experience delivering projects independently or as part of a small founding team.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• 401(k) retirement plan.
• Flexible paid time off (PTO) and recognized holidays.
• Remote-first work environment, with support for your home office setup.
• Direct access to leadership and engagement with significant challenges.
