This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the advanced modeling and forecasting layer, including scenario, sensitivity, and lender and investor models that enhance the planning process.
• Ensure the integrity of financial data across the finance systems stack.
• Establish a robust reporting and analytics framework that serves the CFO, the sponsor, and the board.
• Collaborate with the FP&A team and business unit leaders on the annual budget, reforecast cadence, and long-range plans, contributing depth and rigor to the modeling process.
• Construct and manage three-statement models, while extending into business and operational analytic modeling of unit economics, cohorts, pricing, and capacity, including what-if analysis on operational levers that drive the business.
• Take ownership of scenario and sensitivity modeling as a fundamental discipline; develop lender and investor scenario models, encompassing covenant headroom, debt capacity, sources and uses, as well as returns and dilution.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis and business reviews, comparing budget to actual outcomes, explaining the underlying drivers, and crafting a clear narrative for the CFO, sponsor, and board.
• Deliver decision support and ROI analysis related to pricing, customer and product profitability, build-versus-buy scenarios, as well as hiring and capacity decisions.
• Assist in M&A activities, including due diligence, acquisition modeling, post-close integration, and support fundraising efforts from start to finish, including investor materials and data room management through to closure.
• Author your own reports and analyses from the data warehouse and other data sources using SQL or similar reporting and analytics tools. Proficiency in SQL is highly advantageous.
• Collaborate with the CFO and Controller to evaluate and select a new ERP system, and lead its implementation while overseeing the migration from QuickBooks.
• Manage and enhance the systems currently utilized by the business across accounting, billing, revenue recognition, and CRM, and design more efficient order-to-cash processes.
• Work alongside engineering as a peer to define, prioritize, and drive the development of the data warehouse, systems integrations, and data pipelines.
• Maintain data integrity across a diverse systems landscape: reconcile source data from various platforms, enforce consistent definitions, and serve as the authoritative source for data meanings.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, transitioning from manual, error-prone workflows to automated, scalable solutions.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in FP&A or strategic finance, with direct involvement in scaling a company during a significant growth phase.
• Hands-on experience collaborating with private equity or venture capital partners and boards.
• Essential direct experience in fundraising, including preparing investor materials, managing data rooms, and supporting capital raises through to closure.
• Demonstrated ability to develop lender and investor models, including analyses related to covenants, debt capacity, sources and uses, returns, and dilution.
• Strong report-writing skills using data warehouses and other data sources, with proficiency in SQL or comparable analytics and reporting tools. SQL expertise is a significant advantage.
• Experience in evaluating, selecting, or implementing an ERP system, ideally in collaboration with accounting or a controller.
• Practical knowledge of accounting, billing and revenue, CRM, and BI or data warehouse tools (such as QuickBooks, Maxio, or HubSpot), along with comfort in partnering with engineering for integrations and warehouse development.
• In-depth business acumen, with the ability to fundamentally comprehend business models and relate financial outcomes to underlying operational drivers.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and a solid grasp of SaaS and subscription economics.
• A proven growth mindset with a focus on process improvement; you view broken or manual processes as opportunities rather than barriers.
• Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition, 409A, and cap table concepts.
• A genuine partner mentality, with the ability to thrive in a lean team environment characterized by ambiguity, competing priorities, and direct exposure to executives.
