Senior Forward Deployed Data Engineer, Data Modernization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage directly within the customer's environment to drive project success.

• Take ownership of platform-specific architecture and development for your stack during active engagements.

• Design and implement data ingestion processes from EHR and source systems (Epic Clarity / Caboodle, FHIR, ERP, scheduling, claims) into a medallion lakehouse.

• Construct and enhance change-data-capture, transformation, and orchestration pipelines that align with engagement timelines.

• Set up governance, access control, and data-sharing patterns that deliver clean, AI-ready data to QH's platform.

• Maintain production environments transitioned from previous engagements.

• Assist with pre-sales technical discovery and source-data evaluation.

• Ensure that each environment complies with handoff criteria for the Client Integration team.

• Participate in cross-training on the other two platforms to maintain team flexibility across single- and multi-engagement scenarios.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles, at a Senior or Staff IC level.

• Demonstrated client-facing maturity — adept at working on-site within a customer's environment and presenting technical work to their data and IT leadership.

• Extensive, hands-on expertise in at least one of Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric.

• Proven experience in delivering production data workloads in a regulated environment (HIPAA, HITRUST, or similar).

• Proficient in Python and distributed data processing (PySpark or equivalent), as well as SQL and modern transformation tools.

• Comfortable serving as the sole platform expert during an engagement.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and disciplined in CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions).
